2G – THE FACTS

DecKing Cooler

We only use UV stabilized outdoor grade PVC which means that you will find that it is easier to look after than wood and that it doesn’t lose its good looks to sunlight or harsh conditions of the marine environment.

Manufactured using state-of-the-art technology, our new material is also more environmentally friendly as it contains less PVC, uses a phthalate-free plasticiser, and is REACH compliant whilst remaining 100% recyclable.

With our vision for continuous product improvement we are proud to say that Dek-King 2G offers you the following benefits:

  • Superior lifelike graining: carefully selected pigments to deliver an increased depth of graining.
  • 9 stock colour combinations: offering a greater range of stock colours to suit your requirements.
  • Improved durability: we have modified our formula to offer you the best possible performing product

Dek-King 2G synthetic teak has been designed to replicate the graining found on natural timber, therefore the graining effect we provide will differ between planks. This non-uniformity is intentional and an inherent feature of the product.

But don’t just take our word for it, see the quality for yourself!

Specific Heat per volume unit*

Thermal Conductivity**

1G Material (Standard Synthetic Teak)    1.825 MJ/m3K 0.194 W/mK
2G Material 1.245 MJ/m3K 0.143 W/mK

The 2G sample tested has a lower thermal conductivity, 26.3% less than the 1G sample.  This is as expected when comparing the densities of each product, with the lower density 2G resulting in a lower thermal conductivity. Similarly, the 2G sample gave a 31.8% reduction in Specific Heat per volume.

* Definition of Specific Heat Capacity per volume unit: The heat required to raise the temperature of the volume unit of a material by one degree.  The higher the value, the easier it is to transport heat through the material. For any given “material”, the heat capacity of a body is directly proportional to the amount of “material” it contains (measured in terms of mass volume). Doubling the amount of “material” in a body doubles its heat capacity.

** Definition of Thermal Conductivity: The rate at which heat passes through a specified material, expressed as the amount of heat that flows per unit time through a unit area with a temperature gradient of one degree per unit distance. Heat transfer occurs at a higher rate across materials of high thermal conductivity than across materials of low thermal conductivity.

CHOICE OF INSTALLATION METHOD

Dek-King Weld can be supplied in the following ways:

  • Full fit - our highly experienced fitters will consult with you over your deck design requirements before taking templates and then fabricating the required panels. They will arrange a suitable installation time to minimise the amount of time you are off the water. They can even handle the removal of your old deck and prepare the surface prior to the installation of your new one.
  • Professional templating service and panel fabrication - leaving you to fit the mats yourself.
  • Mats fabricated to your own templates – installation to be handled yourself.

Craftmanship 3

Supplying pre-fabricated panels to templates saves both time and money whilst still providing a professional product ready for installation. The individual panels are supplied as per template and simply need adhering to your deck following preparation using the supplied adhesive.

Alternatively one of our fitters will do everything that you require from surface preparation to templating to fitting on site.
